A Lafayette person was arrested Friday in connection with a property improvement fraud circumstance out of St. Landry Parish.
The Sheriff’s Office environment claims that 48-yr-old Albert George Johnson was arrested following an investigation that commenced in February 2020.
In accordance to Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, Detectives had been notified on February 23, 2020 to a residential contractor fraud incident.
On even more investigation, it was identified that the target allegedly entered into a contractual agreement with Johnson, who is identified as the owner of Alliance Covenant Portray, LLC.
The target told deputies that Johnson experienced allegedly agreed to remodel the victim’s home and received an first payment on September 21, 2019. The rework began the upcoming working day. Deputies say Johnson ongoing to acquire payment for labor and material from the victim but only sporadically worked at the victim’s residence.
Johnson final labored at the home on December 20, 2019 and did not full the remodel.
The whole amount the victim paid out to Johnson was $14,200, which involved materials and labor for the transforming job.
Deputies say both equally the target and detectives created a lot of attempts to get hold of Albert Johnson in regards to the rework, but have been unsuccessful.
On August 27, 2021, Johnson was booked at the St. Landry Parish Jail and charged with dwelling enhancement fraud.
His bond was set at $3,500.
