FISHERS, Ind. — Fishers is generating some modifications in an attempt to cease new vandalism. The City of Fishers has witnessed a rash of injury at its park bathrooms. They explain the harm as just about anything from house injury, like kicking in doorways and ripping soap dispensers off walls, to spreading feces on partitions.
Fishers Police Department Community Information Officer Sgt. Tom Weger reported the division thinks unsupervised teens are carrying out the hurt in the late-night time or right away several hours.
The City of Fishers will now close park restrooms at 8 p.m. That includes:
- Nickel Plate District Amphitheater
- Billericay Park
- Cumberland Park
- Brooks College Park
- Mudsock Fields
- Flat Fork Creek Park
- Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve
Sgt. Weger stated they’ve included additional patrols in the spots to discourage teens. They are also discussing a lot more stability actions, which includes introducing cameras.
Police hope this is only a short term closure, especially for the reason that far more people use the parks late at night time though the sunshine is still out. They are asking mom and dad to be a lot more vigilant about being aware of where their youngsters are.
“We want the public’s assist to be our eyes and ears,” explained Sgt. Weger. “We just cannot be in all these areas at the very same time. And so it all goes again to see one thing, say a little something.
